Scuba diving
With warm water all year and reefs full of life, Malaysia is one of Southeast Asia's best places to dive, whether it's your first dive or your hundredth. On the east coast of the peninsula, islands like Redang, Tioman and the Perhentians have calm, clear bays and many of turtles, with the best season from March to October. Across the sea in Sabah, Sipadan and its neighbours sit in the Coral Triangle and can be dived all year. Choose an island below to explore its dive sites on an interactive map: the level you need, the depth, and the marine life you're likely to meet.
